OAK CLIFF, TEXAS:
Welcome to the world of virtual reality. Coombs Creek Conservancy has partnered with a company just outside of Austin (Wimberley to be exact) called EarthViews to create an interactive 360-degree map of the entire length of Coombs Creek and several of it's important tributaries located in the North Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. It's like Google Street View but instead of a virtual walk through a neighborhood, you will be able to explore the creek without ever getting your feet wet.
In addition to the interactive 360-degree imagery, we will be using highly sensitive multi-parameter sensors to collect extensive water quality data to share with The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment.
It is our hope that this data will help people embrace the value of clean, abundant water and promote environmental stewardship of our under-appreciated local treasure.
